Our mission is to provide youth an optimum opportunity to learn the game of basketball and improve one’s basketball skills. Our aim is to make kids fundamentally sound players, mentally tough & help them develop a higher basketball I.Q. Our training is competitive, fun, motivating & provides realistic expectations.
We host an annual open tryout for assessment and placement in the fall. If you are not able to attend the tryout families can setup a 30-minute customized assessment and placement by appointment only. Players can also attend a practice session in their age group (Kidds or Gymrats, Girl's, or HS boys) to introduce the player. Customized assessments are assessed a $50 fee via invoicing.
An email message indicating team selection/rosters/placement information will be emailed 3-5 days after the evaluation. Please ensure that we have your phone number & email address. General team information, a summary of schedule & fees, forms & instructions will be emailed, or a link provided with training expectations and schedules. Families will confirm/accept a roster position via email and submit forms & payments according to schedule.
Absolutely, practices are open. However, Derrick may not be available to talk before or immediately after a session due to appointments. We will do our best to touch base with you after workouts for any brief questions.
Our programs Practice goal over the course of a season is 15/20 - 90 minute practices. Ideally teams practice twice a week & players participate in supplemental clinics & workouts.
Practices are important. Sometimes practice carries over 15 minutes. If Players want to see improvement consistent practice attendance is important.
Yes. Parents are responsible for their child's drop-off and pick-up. Please
communicate with a coach and or your child about anticipated delayed pick-up under special circumstances. They should stay near our court area until their ride arrives.
Player evaluations will be conducted on a game-by-game basis but not limited to performance in training sessions, practices, games, consistent effort, commitment to defense, along with the extra/uniqueness a player brings to the team and the opponent. All team players will play. We will place players in a position to have an opportunity for success & to grow & develop. Players that play more are the ones that are at practice regularly, are in shape to do so, display positive sportsmanship, & are competing during the game.
Please cheer & support your child/player & the team's success & failures!
